About me:

I am originally from south Texas, but I grew up and attended school in La Porte. I have a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. This is my 5th year as a teacher. I began my career at McAdams and I have loved it! Some of my favorite things are reading, traveling, bike riding, shopping, and spending time with my friends and family. 

Soy originalmente del sur de Texas, pero mi crei y atendi la escuela en La Porte. Tengo un bachillerato en educacion de la Universidad de Houston - Clear Lake. Empeze mi carrera en McAdams y me ha encantado! Algunas de mis cosas favoritras son leer, viajar, ciclar, ir de compras, y pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos.

Hello, my name is Yajaira Garcia and I am the 7th & 8th grade ESL/ELA teacher. In my classes, I work not only to teach the skills necessary to become a proficient reader and writer, but I also help students whose first language is not English become successful in learning the language. It is going to be a great year! I am looking forward to working with each and every one of my students to help them improve their English! Tutorials are every day (except Tuesdays and Fridays) from 3:25-4:15).
