Hello!
I'm the Dyslexia Specialist at Barber Middle School.
This year is my 25th year in education. I graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I've previously taught in Texas City ISD, Columbia-Brazoria ISD, and Bastrop ISD.
The best way to reach me is via email or by sending me a message through Google Hangouts. I teach classes Monday-Thursday and sometimes on Friday. Our dyslexia program is called Basic Language Skills by Neuhaus Education Center. It is a phenomenal, multi-sensory program addressing the unique needs of a dyslexic learner: phonological awareness, sound-symbol relationship, syllabication, orthography, morphology, syntax, reading comprehension and reading fluency.
All of my students are assigned to a Google Classroom with my name and the color of the team they are on, which is based on their concept number in the curriculum.
