During the second semester, all 3rd graders will be learning new skills through playing the recorder!

Some benefits to learning to play the recorder are:

• Breath control and strength as needed when playing
• Coordination of finger movement, breathing, and tongue movements
• Ability to read music and transfer that to an instrument
• Performance practice
• Musicality
• Posture
• Higher level thinking

Each student will be assigned their own recorder in music class, provided by Ms. Poland, but these instruments will stay in the music room. If you would like to purchase a recorder for your child to use at home, I will list the information for you to use below:
