Welcome! First and foremost, I hope you and your families are doing well!
To let you know a little bit about me: I have a B.S. in Biology and was working on my Masters in Biotechnology with a molecular emphasis planning to attend medical school when severe health issues arose causing me to change my career path. I'm a science nerd all the way and my husband was a teacher at the time and I loved going up to the school and being around students and so I decided to teach.
Even though teaching was not what I had planned to do, my first year I was awarded New Teacher of the Year, nominated and was in the top ten for the National Teacher of the Year. This is my 12th year in education and 5th year here with Dickinson ISD. I have taught IPC, Conceptual Physics, Academic Physics, Pre-AP Physics, AP Physics 1 and AP Environmental Science throughout my career.

I love the learning process and working with students and seeing the light bulb come on and excitement when students achieve their goals.
This year is quite different than any other year that I've taught in that we are starting off completely virtual. We will be learning through google classroom this year. Our google classroom is linked to the student accounts and set up for you for easy access.
As we learn how to navigate through this new learning platform together, I appreciate your patience and am open to suggestions. I will be available as always via email: Ktrahan1@dickinsonisd.org (don't forget the "1") as well as through google classroom and Remind. Our Remind code is different for each class and this information can be found in our Google Classroom in the Classwork tab at the top of the feed labeled "Remind".
Go ahead an download the ZOOM app on your electronic device as this will allow us to have virtual discussions where we can see each other, discuss concepts, answer questions and talk. :). These tools will allow us to continue to work together so please check these out and know I'm here to help. I look forward to seeing and hearing from you SOOOOOON! :)
