1. Choose the Nonfiction book from your books for this week.
2. Read the “Before Reading Questions,” which are found on the sheet provided. The Non-fiction will include questions about text features and topic.
3. On notebook paper,, write down three of the questions and your response by completing a book walk (preview).
4. Set a purpose and write the (specific) genre of the book based on text features you see as you preview the story.

1. Read the whole book but pick three questions from the “During Reading Questions.” Remember as you read non-fiction to use the text features and subtitles to help you understand the information.
2. Stop and jot as you read the information in the text. Then, write your response to the three “During Reading Questions” onto notebook paper.
3. While reading, record words that are unfamiliar or new to you. Write down what you think the word may mean based on the text clues.
