For the past 23 years, Dickinson ISD students, parents and employees have been supporting the M.I. Lewis Social Service Center through an annual fundraising event, which last year raised more than $18,000. In the beginning, the event started as a "Stuff the Bus" food drive, but has now transitioned to a "Money for Meals" monetary drive.
The Money for Meals campaign will be held from November 1-12, with campuses and departments accepting cash and check donations to benefit M.I. Lewis, which serves families living within the Dickinson ISD boundaries. Checks must be made payable to M.I. Lewis Social Service Center.
In the past, many have asked to donate online with a credit card. We are excited to announce that this year M.I. Lewis has developed a Money for Meals section on their online system, which will allow for credit card donations. A donor will be able to receive a receipt for the donation and be able to select the school or department he or she is donating on behalf of.
Watch for more information later this month on how Gator Nation can support Money for Meals.
