Hello Calder Road Gator Families!!
My name is Ms.Shanklin and this will be my first year teaching in Dickinson ISD. I formerly taught elementary art at Garrett Elementary in Sheldon ISD for four years. Also as a former gator, I look forward to bringing my artsy abilities to a new swamp and seeing what my new kiddos are capable of. My students in the past have won awards at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well as competing in the district UIL for Art History. They were even about to compete in a Mural division of a C-STEM competition. They have been able to experience many out of the box projects and materials because I know kids love to experiment.

So I am originally from Dover, Ohio and you will definitely see me sporting my crimson and grey in support of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Even though I did not attend OSU, I did attend The University of Findlay and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where I received my BA in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Computer Animation. I have been in Houston for 10 years and I live with my two adorable pups, who are both around three years old. Stix is a Italian Greyhound/Miniature Pinscher mix and Bella is a Chihuahua. They are the most loving and sweetest pups ever! In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports, mainly football and baseball. Go Texans, Astros, and Indians! I also enjoy fishing, traveling, home remodeling, and being crafty. Some of my other favorites are coffee, sweets, Mexican food, The Big Bang Theory, and Harry Potter.
