Color Theory and Sketching

Today's lesson discusses the color wheel and why those colors have to be in a specific order.  You can create your own color wheel using items you find around your house.  We will then take some of those items to create a still life sketch.

Primary Colors: Red, Yellow, and Blue (see video below...Beware!  This song is super catchy!)

Awesome Me Garden-

Happy 1st Day of Spring!  Today is also Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.  In this video, I combine the two celebrations into one art project.  You will be creating a garden that grows everything that makes you awesome!

St. Patrick's Day-

Happy St. Patty's Day!  I have attached two videos for a shamrockin' good time!  The 1st video is an op art lesson that discusses Bridget Riley.  March is also Women's History month so be sure to search for other interesting female artists.  My favorites are Janet Hill, Sarah Coey, and Frida Kahlo.  In class, we have also discussed Alma Thomas, Mary Cassatt, Jen Stark and Georgia O'Keeffe.
