My name is Tameka Henry. I am happy to be the Professional School Counselor at JSES! This is my 23rd year in education. I taught elementary education for fifteen years and starting my 8th year as a school counselor. This year I will be talking with the students about being intentional in everything they do. Students will learn 10 character development traits, mindfulness and social emotional skills. Students will participate in character development lessons in their classrooms.

Small Group Counseling:
Group counseling is available to all students. Most groups occur during lunch time. Some of the small group topics include: friendship, family changes, grief, social skills, anger management, and anxiety.
Students may be referred for individual counseling by themselves, parents/guardians, teachers, or administrators. This counseling is short-term to meet social, emotional, and/or behavioral goals.
