  • Here is a possible schedule to follow.  I know people get started at different times, so I have put time allotments rather than designated start/stop times.  These can be done in any order at any time of the day.  I hope this helps!

    Calendar – 10 minutes

    Talk about what day/date/month/year

    Pick any number 0 – 100 and talk about 1 more/1 less

    Look at the weather and graph on weather graph (from Mar 23 resources.)

    Phonemic Awareness – 10 minutes 

    Choose 1 or more activities from the “G” on the Gator Grid. 

    It is ok to repeat activities, change the words, etc.

    Phonics – 10 minutes

    Review letters and sounds

    Read/write some CVC words (consonant/vowel/consonant)

    ex. – bat, hen, man, pet

    Choose 1 or more activities from the “A” on the Gator Grid. 

    Sight Words – 10- 20 minutes

    Go over stacks sent home.

    Pick the 4 or 5 that were difficult and write them 3 times each.

    I will begin to send weekly sight words with work pages tomorrow.

    Writing – 15 - 25 minutes

    You are welcome to use the Draft Book sent home in bag on Monday.  Please date the top so I can see the progress when we return to school.  Also, have child dictate what the story says to you.

    Draw a picture and write a story using the 6 Stars:

    1) Begin sentences with a capital letter

    2) Use proper punctuation at end of sentence

    3) Spaces between words

    4) Make picture and words match

    5) Use letter and sound knowledge when writing words

    6)  Story makes sense

    Choose 1 activity from the “T” on the Gator Grid.

    Math – 10 – 20 minutes

    Choose 1 or more activities from the “O” on the Gator Grid. 

    Can always work on addition and subtraction problems with manipulatives/pictures

    Have students work on 2 or 3 pages in the math workbooks sent home.

    Science/Social Studies – 15 minutes

    Choose 1 activity from the “R” on the Gator Grid. 

    Work on a unit in the workbook that was in the bag you picked up Monday.

    Can always do:

    * scavenger hunts

    *animal research on animal of interest

    *walk around the block to find different rocks, flowers, grasses, bugs

    *YouTube videos on farm animals, zoo animals, insects, plants, famous people, oviparous animals, frogs, pond animals, ocean animals

    *Positional words

    *Wants and Needs

    PE,  Art,  Music – intermitted throughout the day

    Please make sure your child gets to play and interact in less structured activities.  It is important to have down times for students to relax, have free time, and move, move, move!
