This is the curriculum we use every day in our music room and it provides fun games and interactive resources for your child to continue to gain musical knowledge! If you are interested in your child using this website, I will include the steps needed to sign them up.

1). Email Ms. Poland at lpoland@dickinsonisd.org with the following information:

o Student’s first and last name

      o Student’s homeroom teacher’s name

o A username and password of your choice for your child to use

o A parent email address (to be linked to the account)

Once received, Ms. Poland will create an account and respond with a class code for your student to use when logging in. Once you have received a class code from Ms. Poland you will take the next steps to login:

2). Open any web browser (google chrome, safari, etc.) and go to www.quavermusic.com

o This website can work on a desktop computer, tablet, or smart phone

3). In the top right hand corner, click the green login button

4). Enter the same username and password that you provided Ms. Poland

o Also enter the class code that Ms. Poland sent you

Once you’ve logged in you may use any of the resources the website provides! There are three sections offered to your student. (Student Interactives, Creatives and Quaverbooks). I encourage you and your student to explore all of these fun resources and continue to have a musical outlet.

Another great resource to get moving, and singing is a site called Go Noodle! The kids should know all about it because we use it the music room from time to time. They have many different varieties of videos to sing and dance along to, but my personal favorite is Koo Koo Kangaroo! These are two guys that have hilarious and fun songs to get you moving.
I've included two links for you to access the videos. The first is Go Noodle's website, and the second is the Koo Koo Kangaroo YouTube channel.

SFS Kids is a great site to learn about instruments in the orchestra and other musical terms! You can use this site to look at each instrument and listen. You can also compose your own music!

I realize it’s a little more difficult to do music at home, especially without instruments. So we’re going to get a little creative! I went through my kitchen and found some items that could work as instruments and made a song! (I stole this Crazy Alien song from Quaver, but you could sing any song you know)

Items used: plastic cups, chopsticks, steak seasoning, water bottles

I want to see who can find items in their home and turn them into instruments.

Ps. Families with siblings could make a band!

Here is a fun way to actively make music at home each day! I want everyone to join me in playing some musical bingo! Here’s how it works:
  • In order to make a bingo you have to complete five activities on the card in a row (four if you use the free space)
  • If you want to be super awesome you can get creative with your bingo (make an X, make a box, or even a blackout!)
