Hello! I am a new teacher at Dickinson High School and I'm thrilled to be here! This is my 24th year in Education. I have taught all secondary levels of English over the years from 8th grade through 12th grade. I love teaching English! I am married to a former basketball coach and I have two daughters, Kelsey and Kaleigh. I love to spend time at our lake house and I love to cook. (Some of my students may get to try some things!)
I believe that part of my job is to promote higher thinking and academic growth for all my students. I'll make myself available to provide extra support to students when needed. I want to continually challenge students to have high expectations and to set achievable goals for learning. Learning is not something that is done isolated in one class or one subject. Learning also doesn't take place solely within the walls of a school building. I believe that ALL students can learn and I usually learn a thing or two from them as well. :) I also want to support their mental health. Learning how to navigate the periodic rough waters of "Life" isn't always easy!
