Kranz 2022 Volleyball Tryout Information
8th Grade: Aug. 22 & 23; after school to 5:30 PM
7th Grade: Aug. 24 & 25; after school to 5:30 PM
Requirements for tryouts:
- 2023-2024 athletic physical completed by a doctor turned in by the first day of school on Aug. 22. Physicals can be turned in to Coach I. Rodriguez at Kranz.
- UIL paperwork completed by parents on www.rankonesport.com no later than Aug. 22.
Volleyball Practice Information:
- 7th grade will practice before school from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM.
- 8th grade will practice after school until 5:30 PM.
- 1st day of practice is Monday Aug. 28.
- Practices will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Fridays.
- Games will be held on Thursdays.
- Athletes will need to attend practices in order to play on game days. All missed practices need to be made up before athletes can play in the next scheduled game
When considering to tryout make sure you are able to commit to attend practice during the above times & days of the week.
Physical Information
Please click here for more information on physicals, online paper work, and a copy of the physical form that MUST be used when taking your child to the doctor for their athletic physical. Please turn in completed physical form to the Athletic Trainers at the DHS Field House.
Girls Athletic Period Information
All students that are enrolled in athletics will need to have a 2023-2024 athletic physical on file and all UIL paperwork completed by a parent on www.rankonesport.com
Girls not enrolled in our athletic period are still able to tryout for any sport.
Tentative tryout schedule for all sports
Volleyball - first week of school
Girls Cross Country - first week in Oct.
Girls Basketball -third week in Nov.
Girls Track - second or third week in Feb.
Girls Tennis - second or third week in Feb.
Girls Soccer - week before spring break.
Students trying out for any sport above must have a 2023-2024 athletic physical completed by a doctor and the UIL paperwork completed by a parent on www.rankonesport.com. Turn in completed physical to Coach Rodriguez on the first day of school.

I want to encourage all athletes and those interested in trying out for a sport to workout 3 to 5 days a week over the summer break.
Remember, it's easier to STAY in shape than to get in shape.
Be sure to warm up before working out and to stretch afterwards. If you go for a run, be sure to keep your social distance from others and have parent permission or supervision.
