Hughes Road Elementary

My name is Heather  Lu and I will be your child's second grade teacher for Reading, Writing, and Social Studies.  This is my fourth year teaching and my second year teaching at Hughes Road. 

 I am originally from Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating, I taught English in South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.  I came to Texas and began teaching shortly afterward!  

My husband and I have a wonderful 18 month old baby boy named Elliot.  He is already a Texan and a Gator!  Our family enjoys traveling and learning. We also love to try new foods and explore Texas.

My hobbies include reading (and reading to my son), swimming, traveling and learning cultures, hobbies, and languages.  I am enjoying motherhood and spending time with my family.

I am so looking forward to the 2020-20121 school year and am so excited to be your child's teacher!  My goal is to have a class that is full of fun, engaging lessons and that all of my students make positive growth in a safe and comfortable learning environment.
