STUDENTS MUST USE DISD EMAIL TO ACCESS Google Classroom & Google Hangouts

Contact through Google Hangouts for Office Hours. I have added your students to their corresponding class period via their school email. Please have them accept the invite from their email! If you would like to be added as a parent to the Google hangout please send me your email.

WEEK 1: ADAPTATIONS

Required- Watch the Youtube video Types of Adaptations https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnmPdHmRv9o&feature=youtu.be

Of the five options below choose THREE to complete and submit by Friday 3/27 at 5pm, 

1.     Create a flipgrid explaining 3 human adaptations and why they are beneficial to us as a species 
*Link is on the stream for the flipgrid*
*Flipgrid is an app that can be put on your phone*

2. Follow the link to the padlet https://padlet.com/eadams65/3xqz5aukolk8 and submit your response for each of the would you rather questions. Answer using the sentence stem provided and thoroughly explain why you choose your option. 

3. Watch the flocabulary Adaptations video and play the vocab game and answer the read & respond questions. https://www.flocabulary.com/unit/adaptation/vocab-cards/

4. Teach a family member. Choose a plant or animal & describe 3 adaptations it has to its environment and explain how they are beneficial. Record a video of you teaching a sibling, parent or other family member and submit on flipgrid or google classroom.

WEEK 2: TAXONOMY AND CELLS

RISE BIOLOGY INSTRUCTIONS:

Once you have watched both videos, mark it complete in google classroom. 

Of the four options below choose TWO to complete and submit by Friday 4/3 at 5pm.

 

1. Follow the link below to the Padlet and submit your response to each post about plant and animal cells.

Put your first AND last name before you start your comment. Once completed, go mark as complete in classroom.  I can see what you wrote on the Padlet website.

 

2. Watch the Flocabulary Cells video, play the vocab game.

I will assign it on Google Classroom for you to click on. Once you have watched the video play the vocab game go into google classroom and mark as complete.  I can see on the Flocabulary website if you completed it or not.

 

3. Watch the Flocabulary Classification video, play the vocab game.

4. Complete the Taxonomy and Cells Quizizz assigned in google classroom.

Once you have completed the quizizz go into classroom and mark it as complete.  There is nothing you need to upload or do in classroom.  I can see your scores on the Quizizz website. Take the quiz as many times as you’d like.  I’ll record the best score on Friday 4/3.

1. Create a Flipgrid describing the correct order of taxons and which one is: most inclusive, least inclusive, most specific, and least specific. Also, explain the differences between the three Domains.

 

Once you do a Flipgrid, go in and mark it complete in google classroom.  There's nothing to upload or do in classroom.  I can see your Flipgrid on the Flipgrid website.  If you can't figure out Flipgrid or it's not working properly, don't do it as one or your three assignments.
