Students can either do the assignments on Google Classroom or the paper packets that are picked up at school. Please hold on to the packets for now. We are still waiting for details, but they will be turned in soon.

   When students submit assignments on Google Classroom make sure to click  "Turn In" button.  They will see my comments when they log back into Google Classroom.

   Our Zoom Book Club is not mandatory, but sure is fun. I look forward to seeing you there. I will send out an invite to parents email with the link, day and time.

1) Read the opinion article "Should we get rid of Daylight Savings Time?"
2) Write a paragraph using the T. R. E. E. organizer that we have learned in class. This paragraph should be about your opinion.- yes, you agree or no, you do not agree. You only need to have 1 reason.
    T- thesis (main or central idea)
    R- reason ( supports the main idea)
    E- example 
    E- explain (explain why your example is important)
    S-summary (conclusion)

   This paragraph should be a minimum of 5 sentences. Please make sure that you are checking for: sentence to sentence connections, complete sentences, and correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization.

Newsela- Our class loves using this exciting free resource for nonfiction, kid friendly articles about current topics and news around the world. Newsela can be found on Dickinson ISD's Symbaloo page.

Directions:

1. Students just click on Newsela button

2. Follow directions for log in:

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to "MoreApps" section. Click on the blue Newsela icon.

Scholastic- Free and easy access to Storyworks, Scholastice News, Science Spin, Super Science and DynaMath. We have used several of these fun magazines in class.
