WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE WITH MRS.WHITLEY

Welcome to Mrs. Whitley's 1st grade class! This year your child will be learning and growing in the areas of reading and writing. You can help your child's academic progress by reading with him/her 20-30 minutes every night and practicing our weekly sight word list. Look for a monthly calendar in your student daily folder for updates. Please email me with any questions or concerns.

A little bit about myself... I graduated from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas with a degree in early child education. This is my 4th year teaching at Silbernagel Elementary. March of 2019 I married the love of my life and we are expecting a baby boy in December. I love to be outside with my family and all our animals! 

VIRTUAL TEACHING

This school year will look very different for teachers, students, and parents. I will try my best to make this as smooth as possible. Patience is going to be said a ton at school and at home! Below are some of the websites or resources that we will be using this school year.

• Google Classroom- All the classwork will be accessed and turned in through Google Classroom
• Zoom- All the live lessons will be taught through this app.
• Classlink- This website has all the websites and resources the students need. The students will login to classlink and then all the apps should work.
• Remind101: This app can be on your phone. This will be our point of contact for teacher/parent communication.Our class code is: 628e4g
