Now... a little about me:
I retired from the United States Air Force in January of 2008 with over 20 years of service, mostly as a B-52H Stratofortress Instructor Radar Navigator and Mission Planner for the B-2A Spirit. I immediately came to Dickinson High School in January 2008, and took over as the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor and have been loving every minute of it ever since.
I am married to my beautiful wife of 26 years, Melinda, and have a wonderful son, Logan, who is 33 years old.

January 2008 – Present: Senior Aerospace Science Instructor
Dickinson High School AFJROTC
Dickinson, TX
• Senior instructor of a High School Cadet Corps of approximately 100 students.
• Teach aerospace science courses such as Aviation History, Science of Flight, Astronomy, Space Exploration, and Survival Training.
• Teach Drill and Ceremonies, citizenship, leadership, physical fitness, and other subjects to improve student leadership and success in high school, college, and beyond.
• Attained Advanced Aerospace Science Instructor Certification as authorized by Title 10, U.S. Code, to include a proficiency in accomplishment of professional activities, professional development to meet content knowledge and instructional skills, and performance of competencies and standards within the AFJROTC program in September of 2017.
• Earned the Outstanding Instructor Award twice.
March 2007 – November 2007: B-2 Aircrew Nuclear Certification and Training Officer
Whiteman AFB, MO United States Air Force
• Researched and developed courseware for ongoing two-week B-2 aircrew nuclear certification and training program.
• Taught certification courses to B-2 pilots, preparing them for the final nuclear certification briefing, culminating in the pilots being declared fully combat-ready.
May 2001 – November 2007: Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Manager
Whiteman AFB, MO United States Air Force
• Developed multiple educational programs to train Operations Security Coordinators and base personnel in Operations Security concepts and principles.
• Taught Operations Security classes to new and experienced base personnel on a regular basis, dramatically improving knowledge and awareness as consistently demonstrated in annual higher headquarters inspections.
• Supervised a team of 36 Operations Security Coordinators and over 3,500 base personnel in compliance with effective Operations Security practices.
• Led the organization through many difficult higher headquarters inspections – lauded by inspectors as “best OPSEC practices seen to date.”
April 2004 – November 2007: Communications Security (COMSEC) Responsible Officer
Whiteman AFB, MO United States Air Force
• Acknowledged unit expert chosen to continually instruct B-2 stealth bomber pilots on proper use procedures of extremely sensitive documents.
• Directly responsible for “Outstanding” rating during Nuclear Surety Inspections – applauded by inspectors as “exceptional training program for initial and recurring aircrew positive control material issue and control.”
• Earned “Superior Performer” awards during three separate inspections for outstanding account management.
February 2001 – March 2007: Deputy Chief, B-2 Mission Planning Systems
Whiteman AFB, MO United States Air Force
• Led team of 12 officer, enlisted, and contractor professionals who produced the unit’s mission planning products for the B-2 stealth bomber.
• Managed the unit’s $14 million mission planning system, as well as responsible for problem reporting, requirements definition, software updates, and evaluating technical solutions.
April 1996 – February 2001: B-52H Instructor Radar Navigator/Flight Commander
Barksdale AFB, LA United States Air Force
• Responsible for instructing new navigators how to navigate, control critical timing, operate the complex weapons delivery system, coordinate with other aircrew members and aircraft, while adhering to strict command guidelines and safety restrictions in the B-52 nuclear/conventional strategic bomber.
• Commanded a flight of 9 experienced Instructor Radar Navigators in managing over $40 million in training resources.
Plus, an additional 10 years as an Instructor Radar Navigator, Radar Navigator, and Navigator in the B-52H and B-52G long-range heavy strategic bombers in areas as diverse as Bossier City, Louisiana, Minot, North Dakota, and the U.S. territory of Guam.
