My name is Mr. Vanden Hul, i teach the Basic Automotive, Automotive Technology 1&2 and Practicum to Automotive Technology. This is my 11th year of teaching, 8 years in DISD. Dickinson High School did become NATEF accredited this summer. I have worked in the Automotive industry for 28 years. currently and ASE Master Technician with L1 and MLR certifications. This summer i did achieve Ford Motor Company's highest technician status- Senior Master Technician. I enjoy working with students and am looking forward to a great year

General Information
Description
Diesel and automotive technicians must meet customers’ needs and new technologies as the sophistication of this industry is constantly changing. Automotive service technicians’ and mechanics’ responsibilities have evolved from simple mechanical repairs with traditional hand tools to high-level technology related repairs requiring the ability to work with computerized shop equipment.  This course will prepare each student for future employment in the automotive industry through an internship.
Expectations and Goals
Students demonstrate professional standards and employability skills related to workplace expectations. These include:
Attend class and work as scheduled, arriving on time.
Take direction and accomplish the task at hand independently and as part of a team.
Dress appropriately and use language and manners suitable for the workplace.
Maintain appropriate personal hygiene.
Remain drug and alcohol free.
Demonstrate honesty, integrity and reliability.
