Healing Our Heroes

The University of St. Thomas is offering pro-bono mental health counseling services to teachers during this difficult time. The sessions will be provided through a HIPAA-compliant tele-mental health video conferencing platform. All sessions will be conducted by CMHC counselors-in-training and supervised by the Clinic Director and Coordinator.

Intake services for shelter program.

  • Information and referrals for survivors and their concerned friends and family members.

  • Medical Accompaniment Advocates are on 24-hour call in order to accompany and advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at local hospitals.

FEMA has just issued a major disaster declaration to Texas and will be providing Individual Assistance to individuals and business owners who had damages and losses due to the recent winter weather.  This is GREAT news!

FEMA assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.  (Please note that this is for uninsured losses.)
Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated area can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-462-7585 TTY.
