Hi, and welcome to 5th Grade! My name is Mrs. Akins' and my family and I are fairly new to Texas, having relocated all the way from Oregon a few years ago. We are excited to be here and are enjoying exploring the area!
I graduated from Southern Oregon University and University of Oregon with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education. This is my 14th year in Education, and I have taught nearly every grade from Kindergarten to 5th grade (but 5th grade is my favorite!)
I have 6 children ranging from 8 years old all the way up to 24. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs and every day is an adventure in our family! In my free time I enjoy playing softball, spending time with my husband and children, and anything involving water, especially swimming.
I can't wait to meet you and spend the year together. Whether we are in class, or learning "virtually" we will have fun and learn a lot, TOGETHER! :-)
