___________________________________________________________________________________IIN CASE YOU MISSED THE FIRST UPDATE BELOW HERE IT IS:
Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,
I hope this email finds you well. I know Spring break seems like a long time ago to me already; you may feel the same.
However, I hope you were able to relax some...maybe saw a good movie or two or squeezed in just a bit of reading.
We are certainly living in some very different times right now, but they are also somewhat exciting in that we can keep
learning even though we can not be together in our classroom.  I am missing each of you so very much!

By now each student or family should have been contacted by your zero hour teacher to verify if you have a computer and internet access
during this school closure.  If you have not been contacted, you can let me know the details.  If you have no computer/tablet/ device or internet
access and will need a paper copy of assignments, then we need to know if there is somebody available to pick the work up for you?

While I do not fully know all the details yet, (our language arts online meeting is tomorrow) I wanted to get things up and running asap.
I have invited each student to join their perspective Class period for language arts.  Remember to go to google and you can click on the
green chalkboard icon with student on it that is google classroom.  A word of caution to avoid troubles... if you are logged in to a google account
that is not your school account you will not be able to get into the class.  So in that case log out and then log in using your Dickinson isd school
 google account.
I have included some enrichment activities in the google class already.  Select what you can or want to do right now to get adjusted.
There is some reading and writing suggestions, you can work in no red ink. com , and even learn via a free Scholastic reading link.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns; I will do my best to try to find an answer.
Students and families, please know that I do not want to think about adding stress to your lives.  Please let me know how I can pray for you...

I am proud of all of your hard work this year... you have grown so much! Parents/guardians can be so proud of you as well.
And now it is our time to rise to the challenge and do a Kranztastic job as we tackle this real world learning.
More information to come as our official lessons will begin in the very near future.

**This is what I wrote at the beginning of our year together!

"Welcome to 7th grade English Language Arts!

As a Kranz Junior High scholar, you will learn and practice skills to listen, speak, read and write daily that will help you communicate effectively in school, at home, and in our community. I am so excited to teach and watch you grow stronger everyday this year as you try new ideas and apply different strategies in reading and writing!"

***Well now it is time to show how strong you have become.  You know I always say the goal is one day for students to be able to let go of the "apron strings" of the teacher and make choices, freely read, write and think as they communicate and learn.  The time is now.  However, I am not leaving you... We are in this together. Keep pressing onward!
