We will cover reading fluency, reading comprehension, reading strategies and grammar. Student will also learn historical references in United States and as well as Texas.

Class Procedures:

Every class meeting will begin with the day with a warm-up related to the day’s focus.

Required materials

  • Pen/Pencil
  • Tablet
  • Spiral notebook/Binder
  • Colored Pencils

  • There will be 3 grades per week or 15 per grading period.
  • Formative: Daily work and quizzes = 55%
  • Summative: Assessments and projects = 45%

There is a direct correlation between student attendance and academic success. Since most of what you will learn in class will be through participation and the fact that you only have Texas History every other day, it is recommended that students miss as few days as possible.

Studies will have a reading assignment weekly that will be sending home every Monday.
