Hello! My name is Nicole Coppes and I am your kiddo's 9th grade AP Human Geography teacher!
Here is a little about me. I graduated from the University of North Texas with degrees in both History and English Literature. I moved back down to Houston and began my teaching career at Dunbar Middle School teaching 5th grade American History. My daughter was born in the summer of 2015 and I decided to stay home with her during that first year. However, I came back to Dickinson in 2016 and worked at Dickinson High School for two years teaching U.S. History and AP World History. When I heard that DISD was opening a new junior high, I decided to try my hand at 8th grade. I was a U.S. History teacher for two years at Kranz. Now I am back home at DHS and teaching the amazing AP Human Geography class and STEM.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my science teacher husband, 7 year old son, and 5 year old daughter. My last name is in the process of being changed from Long to Coppes.
