Sports and Entertainment Marketing
This course is designed to develop a thorough understanding of the marketing concepts and theories that apply to sports and events. This course is based on the business and marketing core that includes communication skills, distribution, marketing-information management, pricing, product/service management, promotion, selling, operations, strategic management, human resource management, and the economic impact and considerations involved in the sports and event marketing industries.
Writing Component: Students will utilize their writing skills by completing writing portfolio
pieces, open responses, on-demands and responses to bell ringers and essential questions. Other
writing components may be added as deemed necessary.
Grades: Formative objectives (Class work, Homework, quizzes, vocabulary work, etc.) will be worth 50% of the grade.
Summative objectives (Tests, major grades, projects, presentations, etc.) will be worth 50% of the grade.
Late work – I day Late = 10 points off
2 days Late = 20 points off
3 days Late = 30 points off
** Any work turned in after that will be given a 50 if complete and only if it is turned in before the end of the grading period. All others receive a 0
