This course focuses on in-depth compositional, technical an creative problems in drawing with various art media.  Creative expression, originality, production skills, and quality of finished product are stressed.

Students work on advanced drawing such as portraiture, architecture, imaginative, and drawing from life.

Students are expected to apply well known styles/techniques in their own personal works yet display a unique individual style of their own and maintain an ongoing sketchbook. Research and constructive criticism is also part of the course.

Advanced Placement Drawing is a studio course that enables highly motivated and talented drawing students a chance to place out of a college level drawing class upon passing the AP Drawing Portfolio exam with a high score.  Significant more commitment to time and effort is required for this course. The course follows the AP College Board standards.
