Kirsten Westbrook 


Kirsten Westbrook has been an 8th Grade Math teacher in Dickinson ISD going on two years. She taught 8th Grade Algebra and was a Content Chair at KIPP Intrepid Preparatory in Houston, Texas for 5 years. Kirsten was also the Algebra I Course Leader for KIPP Houston Public Schools. Kirsten is currently getting her Masters degree in Education Administration. Next year, Kirsten plans to continue her leadership roles and hopefully find a position where she can use her current skills to help new and struggling teachers. A native Houstonian, she has been in the classroom for eleven years. Her teaching experience has always been centered on Middle School Math and Algebra. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 1997. This degree lead to a short career in banking until Kirsten found she had a talent for journalism and a love for education. After running her own newspaper for several years in Georgia, she returned to her roots in Texas and began her teaching profession. Kirsten also has a Masters Degree in Psycho-energetic Counseling from SW University of Social Studies. With this degree, she will use it to help people learn their life purpose through spiritual counseling and self-empowerment. Outside of school, Kirsten likes playing with her 3 children, ages 12, 10 and 6. Family is important to her. She also enjoys working out, singing, dancing and taking martial arts. She is well rounded and enjoys helping children realize their true potential.
