5th grade classes at Lobit Middle School meet on an every other day basis. These days are called Blue Days and White Days. Fifth graders rotate through four Elective Areas (one area every nine weeks): Art, Technology, Drama, and Music. Parents may contact the Office to determine which Elective their student is currently attending.

5th grade Music includes: a study of major instrument families, singing, playing Orff instruments, Drumming, Folk Dance, online musical activities such as Incredibox, a study of hearing (including how people are working to do concerts for the deaf community), ham bone & other body percussion, a variety of classroom instruments, musical literacy (and literacy through music), viewing of musical performances, study of possible careers in the area of Music, and many other topics.

Dickinson ISD utilizes the Quaver Music curriculum Kindergarten through 5th grade.
