District Logo Implementation
Dickinson ISD has implemented a district-wide professional use logo for internal and external documents. This logo is not meant to be altered in any way including stretch distortion, recolor and/or cropping. For printing and embroidery purposes, there are alternate versions available in solid black, solid white, and grey scale. Click the logo to the left to download the full-size PNG version of the logo. To request a copy of the Adobe Illustrator version aka Vector Image file, please email me.
Why is branding important?
It is important for organizations to streamline their communications in order to create a clear and consistent message to the community. While Big Al is frequently used as a "logo", the gator is more heavily associated with our DHS sports/athletics. Before this logo was designed and implemented, the DISD organization lacked a professional use logo for internal and external documents with parents, vendors, board members, and state and federal agencies. This logo was implemented in order for DISD to project a more professional appearance in our official correspondence.

While Dickinson ISD has implemented a new professional-use logo, many of the campuses choose to embrace their own theme or identity for the school year. These themes are generally created by the campus principal and fall in line with their administration's goals or focus for that particular school year. Generally these themes are set during the summer and created in time for the new school year with enough time to be implemented on the campus. I can work with you to create a design that represents your theme, and can be printed easily on shirts, cups, etc.
Dickinson ISD has several programs and events for students, teachers, and community. Many of these programs have logos very similar to one another, with the use of Big Al and/or other Gator insignia. I have worked with campuses and directors across DISD to help create identities for these programs. These logos and brands have helped to make these programs stand out more from the traditional "blue and white" and "Gator". With a single mascot for the whole district, it can sometimes be hard to make your program or event stand out. I'd be happy to create original artwork for your program to use moving forward. Many times I come across directors who need shirts printed but do not have the proper artwork, or have outdated artwork that does not work for printing or embroidery. To them I suggest starting fresh with a new logo/artwork, so that it may be used clearly and clean for your program. Below are some examples of logos I've made for programs within DISD.
Since Dickinson ISD only has one high school, our high school athletics are a large focus of our town and community. I have worked with our athletics department to create edgy, eye-catching designs for our sports, starting with football, basketball, and softball. Generally this involves taking marketing photos, creating a design / campaign to follow throughout the season, and distributing them throughout our communication channels. These graphics are appealing to our students and community and create more shares, likes, and general buzz about our sports and the district in general. I am happy to work with coaches or fine arts directors to create a brand for your sports that falls in line with the aggressive, edgy look of the other sports designs. Below are some examples of the graphics for football, basketball and softball.
Events for DISD have consistent artwork carried out throughout the entire campaign. One of the largest events that marketing is done for is the annual Education Foundation Gala typically held in early spring. Everything from save-the-dates, invitations, RSVP cards, table signs, seating chart, sign-ins, posters, information, social media graphics, etc are just a few of the pieces needed for the gala's branding. Other big events include the HR job fair held in April, and graduation in May or June. It's important to create consistent visuals and information to distribute across several channels, and create recognition of our events and our district.
