Welcome Kranz Junior High students and parents to PLTW! My name is Dr. Jessica Chapman and I am excited for my first year in DISD. I am a entering my 9th year in teaching, but my first year of PLTW. Project Lead the Way is a hands on STEM class where students will learn computer coding, 3D modeling, the mechanics of flight and space, and the engineering design process. This class has an interactive curriculum that focuses on giving students experiences that build their 21st century skills.
This class will require students to use online platforms in order to create and submit work. We will spend time talking about social media etiquette, proper use of technology and learn practical skills for using traditional computer software systems.
A little bit about me...
I am originally from LaMarque, TX and moved to Nashville, TN for the last 12 years. I have taught all levels of math, chemistry, ecology, and physics. I enjoy math and science and have a bachelor's degree in chemistry along with a master's degree in secondary education. My doctorate degree in in educational leadership.
