Welcome Class of 2025!

The upcoming school year will be different for all of us. Although we will not be starting out the year face to face, I am excited to see all of you everyday through Zoom. Let's take on the challenges this year brings with patience, bravery, and kindness!

I am a first generation college student. I am a graduate of University of Houston- Clear Lake. This is my 16th year of teaching. All sixteen years have been here in Dickinson. Reading is my passion. My goal is to share, encourage, and instill this passion for reading with my students.

Throughout the year, we will do various activities to promote growth in reading and writing and prepare students for high school and further education as well as life.

The following is an overview of what is expected of your child, the student. Please read and discuss these requirements with your child. We will be doing a lot of cooperative learning in this class. It is important that everyone puts forth his/her best effort. Group assignments will be at the teacher’s discretion. Please encourage your child to cooperate with others, as this skill is important for class and necessary in life. Students will be graded on the results of their assignments and the tasks they are responsible for performing.
