Hello,
My name is Rumaldo Saenz, III and I am the band director here at Barber Middle School. I was born and raised in Pasadena, Tx and attended Pasadena schools.
I graduated from J.F. Dobie HS in 1992 and won a spot in the Texas All-State band on bassoon my senior year.

;I went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Houston in 1997 and earned a Master's Degree in Music Performance (Bassoon) and Conducting from the University of Houston in 2007. While earning my Master's degree I was a graduate teaching assistant for the Wind Ensemble and undergraduate conducting classes.
I was also awarded a $10,000 fellowship for bassoon performance in the UH woodwind quintet during my time as a Graduate student at the University of Houston.
I have been teaching band for 22 years, 12 of those here in Dickinson. I also taught in Cypress Fairbanks ISD, in North West Houston, Birdville ISD in Fort Worth, Tx and in Pearland ISD in Pearland, Tx prior to coming to Dickinson ISD.
When teaching Jr. High School bands in Cy-Fair, Birdville and Pearland my ensembles consistently won sweepstakes at UIL competitions and were often named 1st place "best in class" at many competitive band festivals
I have three beautiful children Halen, Alexander and Aurora.

10:59 am to 11:44 pm (Regular Ed and Pre-Ap Trombone, Tuba, Euphonium, Flute and Saxophone
11:44 am to 12:15 pm (Regular ED and Pre-AP Trumpet, Percussion and Clarinet
1:45 pm to 2:30 pm (STEM Percussion, Trumpet, French Horn, Clarinet and Flute
2:30 pm to 3:15 pm (STEM Tuba, Euphonium, Trombone and Saxophone
