I am the Communities In Schools Student Support Specialist at Bay Colony Elementary. I originally started off with Communities In Schools- Bay Area as an Intern and now this will be my first year as a Student Support Specialist. I am so excited to be at Bay Colony to provide support to students and their families. I recently graduated from the University of Houston - Clear Lake with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Social Work at the University of Houston.

As a Student Support Specialist, I am able to assist families with referrals to various agencies, provide clothing, school supplies and food assistance.  In addition, I provide educational and academic support as well as emotional support to students both individually and in small groups.  My primary focus is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for students and families.

I live in Deer Park with my family. I have a small fur baby named Coco. She is a Longed Haired Chihuahua. In my free time, I love to do crafts, watch movies, play video games and read.

Our Mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

 Every Child Needs and Deserves:
A personal one-on-one relationship with a caring adult
A safe place to learn and grow
A healthy start and a healthy future
A marketable skill to use upon graduation
A chance to give back to peers and the community

I will be posting activities, games, and inspirational quotes on my CIS Google Classroom.
